In preparation for Lent...
As the Church nears Lent, (Ash Wednesday is Feb. 26th) Catholics are asked to devote ourselves to:
– seek the Lord in prayer and Scripture – join a Lenten Study, attend a new Bible Study, participate in a Small Christian Community.
– through this act of service to the Church, we share God’s gifts, not only through the distribution of money,
but through the sharing of our time and talents. Donate a little extra to the Church, or a favorite charity like the CRS Rice Bowl, offer your time to serve at the Friday Fish Fry. Give of your time to come and participate in Stations of the Cross...
– we know of the tradition of abstaining from meat on Fridays, but also prayerfully consider practice personal acts of self-discipline in other ways throughout Lent.
Lent is a special time of prayer, penance, sacrifice and good works in preparation of the celebration of Easter. Consider some of the ways you can have a meaningful Lent at St. Juliana through some of our parish-wide activities.
