Hello St. Juliana Family,

My name is Kris Tran. It is my blessing to serve at St. Juliana as Coordinator of Confirmation and Youth Ministry. Ministry for young people has always been my mission ever since my family moved to the United States in 2008. I was involved in Sunday Bible Classes, teaching Confirmation classes, leading Confirmation retreat at St. Barbara Church; Youth Leadership training, Summer Youth Camp, building up different retreat programs for different age group with the Salesian priests and brothers. Youth Ministry has become so important in my life that in 2017, I decided to join the Salesians of Don Bosco congregation and became a Religious Brother. I took my first Religious Profession in 2019 on August 15th , the Feast of the Assumption of our Blessed Mary. With the Salesians, I was sent to study Philosophy, Theology, and Psychology in New Jersey. Upon finishing my degree, my superior assigned me to St. John Bosco High School to work as Theology teacher and Coordinator of Youth Ministry. During my years there, I continued my discernment for my vocation and after much prayer and reflection, with guidance from my spiritual director, I had come to realize and accept that religious life was not for me. After a year working still at St. John Bosco High School, I feel missing the community aspect of the parish, so I contacted the Youth and Young Adult Office of Orange Diocese, and they sent my resume to Father Michael, and the rest is history.

At St. Juliana Church, I hope to learn more about the culture and tradition of the community here. I also hope that I will be able to bring my gifts to contribute to this faith family. I was overwhelmed by the warm welcome of not just the parish staff but from the community members as well. I am looking forward to meeting everyone in the community and working together to serve the young people.

Thank you so much and God bless!
